    What is the RRB Group D syllabus? What are the important topics in it?

    The Railway Recruitment Boards will soon be conducting their RRB group D recruitment examination to fill the available vacancies in the railways. The exam has four stages – Computer Based Test (CBT), Physical Examination, Document Verification and Medical Test.

    The Computer Based Test will check the candidate’s efficiency in Mathematics, General Reasoning, General Science and Current Affairs.     Mathematics and Quantitative Aptitude

    The Mathematics and quantitative section will assess the quantitative skills of the candidate. The questions will be based on basic 10th standard mathematics. Some of the important topics from which questions can be asked for RRB Group D Mathematics section are:

    General Intelligence and Reasoning

    This section will assess the candidate’s logical reasoning and data interpretation capacity. Questions may be based on the following topics:

    • Jumbled words and paragraphs
    • Relationships
    • Classifications
    • Similarities and differences
    • Number Series
    • Decision Making
    • Syllogism
    • Simple and Complex Mathematical Calculations

    In previous question papers, a good number of questions have been asked from analytical reasoning, alphabetical and numerical series, classifications and data interpretation.

    General Science

    This section marks candidates based on their scientific reasoning and awareness. Questions will be based on the Class 10 science syllabus and will cover the following topics:

    • Class 10 Physics
    • Class 10 Chemistry
    • Class 10 Biology

    All three subjects are generally given equal weightage and hence candidates should prepare for all the subjects equally well. A CBSE Class 10 textbook can be used to prepare for this section.

    General Awareness and Current Affairs

    For this section, candidates will have to be thorough with the ongoing affairs of the nation as well as the world. There is no particular topic from which the questions will be asked. However, some of the important areas you can focus on are as follows:

    • Political Affairs
    • Technological Advancements
    • Economical issues and affairs
    • Global issues
