Men Styling Guide- How to pair up different lowers with a kurta

Nowadays, when it comes to traditional wear for men, there are quite a few options to choose from. And if you don’t have or want traditional lowers for men, you can substitute it for denim jeans too! But let’s talk about traditional lowers for men and how you can style them with different kurtas and such first.

If you are the type of guy who has zero fashion knowledge about how to style a traditional outfit with lowers for men then this is just the thing you need to refer to catch all the eyeballs on you at any wedding event or other Indian festivals such as diwali. We’ll help you navigate how and what lowers for men can pair with your kurta.

    1. Patiala pants and kurta: Patiala pants give your attire a cool and funky look, and it sort of looks like a dhoti but is far apart from a dhoti. The main difference between the two is that patiala pants, unlike dhotis, don’t have frontal pleats. And when it comes to these lowers for men, always pair your patiala pants and kurta in contrasting colours and never go for matching sets. And remember, where there are patiala pants, there are mojaris and jottis.
    1. Pyjamas and kurta: The classic kurta and pyjama duo is always appropriate for any occasion, as it gives you a simple and elegant look. The golden pyjama goes with a red kurta or an asymmetrical kurta. or vice versa, red pyjamas with a golden kurta. For bottoms, you can pair it with shoes or jottis.
    1. Pencil-fit pants and kurta: Pencil-fit pants are similar to pyjamas but with a tapered hem and a wider bottom that finishes just above the ankle. You can style your pencil fit pants with any kurta or sherwani. To accessorise your outfit, you can put on a sherwani jacket over your kurta and pencil fit pants and wear brown leather boots.
    1. Dhoti and kurta: Now, we know a lot of guys will straight up reject wearing a dhoti, given all the work it takes to wear it and carry it with caution. But there are ready-made dhotis with elastic grip, that you can just slide into like normal pants, but dhoti style. These dhoti pants are super comfortable, classy, and aesthetic as well. You don’t have to be concerned about your dhoti opening up at the wrong time or in the wrong place because you didn’t properly tuck in the pleats. You can wear these dhoti pants with a straight fit kurta and nehru jacket, suit, or sherwani, and for bottoms, you can go for mojaris or boots.

Keeping these above tips in mind, you can very well slay your Indian attire and bag yourself a patakha if you don’t have one and are looking for one. All of the above-mentioned lowers for men pretty much go with any style of kurta or sherwani, just make sure you have the right colour scheme in mind for the outfit.
