Signs Your Hormones Are Out of Whack

    By MarkJanuary 18, 2022No Comments4 Mins Read

Is your weight fluctuating uncontrollably? Do you have mood swings that are causing problems at work or in relationships? Are you feeling less energetic than usual? Many signs can indicate a hormonal imbalance. In this article, Dr Ryan Shelton will discuss the five most common signs of hormone imbalance and get help for each one!

    Mood Swings

Are you experiencing significant mood swings and irritability? If so, your hormones may be out of whack. Hormonal imbalance can cause depression or anxiety because it leads to the release of cortisol, a stress hormone that makes us feel anxious when we don’t need to! Cortisol also causes our bodies to go into “fight-or-flight” mode, where we become hypervigilant about protecting ourselves from threats (even if they are not real). This constant vigilance raises blood pressure over time, leading to other health problems like heart attacks and strokes. To counteract this, try eating an anti-inflammatory diet with lots of fruits and vegetables rich in antioxidants and foods containing omega-three fatty acids such as salmon, walnuts, and flax seeds.

    Fatigue & Sleepiness

Do you feel tired all the time? Are you struggling to stay awake during the day? If so, your hormones may be out of balance. When our hormone levels are off, it can lead to extreme fatigue and sleepiness. This is because our adrenal glands work overtime when our hormones are imbalanced, which leads to feelings of exhaustion. The best way to combat this symptom is by getting plenty of restful sleep every night (at least eight hours). You can also try acupuncture or meditation, which have been shown to help improve energy levels and promote better sleep habits!

    Weight Gain/Loss Without Changing Diet

Are you noticing that you’re gaining or losing weight without any changes to your diet? This could be a sign that your hormones are out of balance. When our hormones are off, it can lead to fluctuations in our weight and metabolism. If you are struggling with unexplained weight gain or loss, it is best to consult with a doctor who can help get your hormone levels back on track!

    Frequent Headaches & Nausea

Do you frequently experience headaches or nausea? These could also be signs that your hormones are out of balance. Hormonal imbalance often leads to very severe headaches and feelings of nausea and sickness. In some cases, this may even cause vomiting! If you are experiencing these symptoms regularly, it is best to consult with a doctor to find out what is causing them and how you can treat them.

    Anxiety & Depression

Do you feel like you’re constantly anxious or depressed? If so, your hormones may be out of balance. When our hormone levels are off, it can lead to anxiety or depression because it throws our moods off balance. This is especially common in women who are going through menopause. If you are struggling with these symptoms, it is best to seek help from a therapist or counselor who can help you manage your emotions!

    Tingling In Hands/Feet/Lips

Are you feeling a tingling sensation in your hands, feet, or? This could be a sign that your hormones are out of balance. When our hormone levels are off, it can change how we feel sensations in our bodies. This is because some of our hormones (like estrogen) help regulate how we sense things like touch, heat, and cold. If you’re feeling a tingling sensation that isn’t going away, it’s best to consult with a doctor to figure out what’s causing it!

    Hot Flashes/Night Sweats

Do you experience hot flashes or night sweats? These could be signs that your hormones are out of balance. When our hormone levels get off track, it can often cause us to experience extreme temperature changes. This is because our adrenal glands work overtime when our hormones are imbalanced, which leads to feelings of extreme heat. If you are experiencing these symptoms, it’s best to consult with a doctor who can help get your hormone levels back on track!

This blog has been a guide to understanding the hormones that may be out of balance and how you can bring them back into equilibrium. We hope it’s helped! You deserve to feel better than you do now.
