Ras Al Khaimah to Welcome Global Citizen Forum
On December 12 and 13, 2021, at the Al Hamra International Exhibition and Convention Center, Ras Al Khaimah, UAE, will host the Global Citizen Forum Summit.
In conjunction with Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority, the summit will be hosted under the theme, The Future in Motion – bringing together world-class minds to explore a new era of human mobility and promote sustainable tourism initiatives.
For people who have been paying attention to this fast-rising Emirate’s superpower, it comes as no surprise because RAK’s business-friendly leader Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi has not wavered in his vision to keep implementing bold reforms, befitting its new-age status as a global player.
In an interview ahead of the event, Raki Phillips, CEO of Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority, said, “We look forward to welcoming the Global Citizen Forum back to the UAE to take part in this important dialogue for the future of Ras Al Khaimah.”
In keeping with our commitment to a sustainable world in the Emirate, we have placed responsible tourism at the core of our strategy. “As a nature-based Emirate, the great importance of mobility will be brought to life with new attractions and experiences as well as knowledge and understanding of conservation and sustainable tourism.”
As the Expo in Dubai approaches, the UAE is one of the most popular and safest travel destinations across the globe. “We are delighted to welcome the Forum’s members and special guests, as well as our many initiatives to help make a remarkable positive impact on the lives of future generations,” added Phillips.
According to Bureau Veritas, Ras al Khaimah was ranked the first safe city in the world in 2020 and received the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) Safe Travels stamp. Besides being one of the fastest-developing sustainable tourism destinations in the region, the Emirate has twice been named Gulf Tourism Capital. It hosts several prestigious regional and international events each year.
Over the years, the Global Citizen Forum Summits took place in Dubai, Monaco, Toronto, and Sweety Stefan Island.
The invent has witnessed notable figures such as Kofi Annan, Irina Bokova, Kristalina Georgieva, Jose Manuel Barroso, Dushko Markovic, Janet Kagame, Gaston Brown, Robert De Niro, Wycliffe Jean, and Eve.
Several state leaders and royal families, prominent entrepreneurs, and charities have also participated in this forum.
